11 chaos-tier mods that turn RE Requiem into a comedy show — all free on Nexus.
RE Requiem dropped on February 27, 2026. Within a week, the modding scene decided the game wasn’t scary enough. By March, NexusMods had an entire section dedicated to replacing the most horrifying things in the game with trains, ogres, and bananas.
What makes these mods land so hard is the contrast. Capcom built Requiem on the RE Engine — the same graphics pipeline behind RE4 Remake and Village. The lighting is genuinely gorgeous. Character models have full facial rigging. Textures are path-traced and meticulously detailed.
So when someone swaps the giant spider boss with a smiling Thomas the Tank Engine, or turns the hulking zombie stalker into Shrek, or replaces Leon’s handgun with a banana — it hits differently than it would in any other game. AAA horror production values delivering pure meme energy. That’s the sweet spot.
Here are the 11 mods I’ve found that actually make the game funnier. Every one is free, verified on NexusMods, and installable through Fluffy Mod Manager in under a minute.
1. Thomas the Tank Engine
xZombieAlix | Nexus #164 | 20,478 downloads | March 3, 2026
This one went semi-viral within days of the game coming out. Every spider in the game — the tiny ones that scatter across the floor, the medium crawlers, the big boss spider — all of them become Thomas the Tank Engine. The tiny ones are little engines. The boss spider is full Thomas with the face.
The creator, ZombieAli, used some RE Engine tools to get the model swaps working properly and honestly the way it sits in the game is seamless. The original spiders are genuinely terrifying so the jump from that to a cheerful blue train engine is exactly the kind of tonal whiplash that makes these mods work.
One thing to note — REFramework dropped an update the same day this went live and the Nexus page specifically says you need that update installed first or the mod won’t load. Easy fix, just do it before you launch the game.
2. Shrek Chunk
TLordArbiter | Nexus #363 | 23,981 downloads | March 6, 2026
The Chunk is that big fat zombie in Rhodes Hill Chronic Care who stalks you relentlessly and wants to throw you in his belly. He’s genuinely one of the more grotesque enemy designs in the game. TLordArbiter swapped him out for Shrek and honestly the result is exactly what you’d hope for — a big green ogre lumbering after you with the same aggressive hunger.
The mod description calls it a shitpost mod which feels accurate. It’s two lines on the Nexus page and it’s perfect. Nearly 24,000 downloads in the first couple weeks so clearly people were ready for this.
3. Michael Jackson Lickers
Forever | Uploaded by Foreverfield | Nexus #450 | 34,510 downloads | March 7, 2026
Audio swap — and honestly this might be the best one on the list if you want pure comedy value with minimal effort. The Lickers in Requiem are already horrifying. The way they click, the screaming, the wall-crawling — genuinely unsettling stuff. Now all of that audio is Michael Jackson. Every sound they make.
Highest download count on this whole list and it makes sense — zero model editing, just drop in the audio files and you’re done. The creator also has Laser Hatchet, Ammo Models in Inventory, and a Rebecca Chambers Med Injector mod all as separate downloads. This person has built an entire comedy audio pack for a horror game.
4. Patty Wagon
SinderyMonk | Nexus #548 | 32,954 downloads | March 9, 2026
Leon S. Kennedy’s Porsche gets replaced with the Patty Wagon from SpongeBob SquarePants. The mod description explains that Leon’s Porsche is quote unquote out for repairs so the DSO had to give him the only replacement available. That is immaculate worldbuilding for a car swap mod.
Over 32,000 downloads and 531 endorsements. The mod page has 11 images. Just images of the Patty Wagon in different parts of the game. Honestly that’s all you need.
5. Bicycle — Leon and Victor Gideon
TLordArbiter | Nexus #537 | 24,677 downloads | March 9, 2026
The motorcycle chase sequence near the end of the game is supposed to be one of the more intense set pieces — Leon and Victor Gideon on bikes, racing through zombie-filled streets. TLordArbiter swapped both bikes for regular bicycles. With baskets.
The model is borrowed from Idea Factory and Compile Heart’s Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters so it’s an actual game asset just transplanted into RE Requiem. Both Leon and Victor get the same bicycle. Both of them pedalling furiously through a zombie apocalypse. That’s the whole joke and it works completely.
6. Banana Requiem
TLordArbiter | Nexus #658 | 13,255 downloads | March 11, 2026
Leon’s main handgun becomes a banana. Same fire rate, same reload animations, the banana just sits on the existing weapon system and works straight away. No模型的编辑, it just hooks into the game engine and runs.
Same day, different creator — Stevebg23 dropped another banana mod that covers Grace’s pistol and Leon’s shotgun and swaps the axe and scissors with spoons. Separate download, different person. You can stack them together and have a full produce-and-cutlery loadout. That’s a complete game separate from the base game.
7. Arnold Schwarzenegger Dogs
Forever | Uploaded by Foreverfield | Nexus #922 | 5,164 downloads | March 16, 2026
The Garmr dogs in Requiem are the pack hunters — they come at you from multiple angles, fast and relentless. This mod swaps all their audio with Arnold Schwarzenegger one-liners. Specifically the ones where he’s telling you to get to the choppa.
Works alongside the Michael Jackson Lickers mod from the same creator — different audio files so they don’t interfere. That’s the third Foreverfield mod on this list. The brand is clear: specific pop culture references, audio-only, install-and-go. I respect the formula.
8. Toothless — How to Train Your Dragon
MrMarco1003 | Nexus #997 | 3,020 downloads | March 18, 2026
Both Leon’s and Victor Gideon’s motorbikes become Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. The Night Fury dragon. The description just says made this for fun and honestly that’s enough.
Lower download count than the other vehicle swaps but this is probably the most technically demanding mod on the list. Getting a dragon model to sit correctly on a motorcycle rig — the way the body folds, the crouch position, the wings — that takes actual work. If you want the most polished bike swap, this is probably it.
9. “Faahh” gunshot sound swap
TheAbyssWaalker | Nexus #995 | 11,242 downloads | March 18, 2026
Every gunshot in the entire game now makes the faahh sound. That’s the whole concept. One line on the Nexus page and 11,000 downloads. The internet is a genuinely incredible place.
Install is the same as everything else — Fluffy Mod Manager, drag and drop, enable. No editing, no config, just pure audio chaos. Solid choice for streaming.
10. True Plunger Mod
MattBTW | Nexus #480 | 3,654 downloads | March 8, 2026
Leon gets a rubber plunger instead of his hatchet. The description calls it a much deadlier weapon and delivers that completely straight with zero irony. I respect that.
Enable Loose File Loader in REFramework, drag the zip into Fluffy Mod Manager, toggle on. Done. Niche humor, smaller download count, but if this is your vibe you know exactly what you’re getting.
11. Moaning Molotovs (NSFW)
Forever | Uploaded by Foreverfield | Nexus #430
Adult content — requires Nexus login with adult content enabled to view.
Audio swap — every Molotov sound, the throw, the glass breaking, the fire, all of it replaced with moaning. This is the fourth Foreverfield mod on this list and it is absolutely the NSFW line. Do not install this on shared hardware.
Honorable mentions
Xenomorph over The Girl (Nexus #510 — Raq): The Girl enemy becomes the Xenomorph from Alien: Isolation. This one isn’t really a joke mod — it’s genuinely terrifying — but the tonal collision of two horror franchises in the same encounter is its own kind of comedy.
Springtrap over The Girl (Nexus #1008 — Chriddeer): Another The Girl replacement, this time with Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s. Apparently even more disturbing than the Xenomorph version.
Grace Cat Ears (Nexus #549 — leonsholybody): Just cat ears on Grace. No further explanation required.
